ARPEL4Entrep Stage 2: Subject Modules

Stage 2- Subject Modules – ARPEL4Entrep of the Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship includes a number of subject modules. Students are required to select 8 out of the 10 subject modules. Each module is accredited with 8 ECTS credits and is delivered over a period of 6 weeks. Each Partner HEI has developed two Subject modules. This means that the students will be benefiting from an international faculty. Each module has includes a self-learning area and a collaborative area. The self-learning area is composed of 12 hours of pre-recorded audio-visual lectures, power point notes, reading and reference lists, and self-assessment tests. Whilst, the collaborative area is composed of the three assessment elements which are the tutorials, forum questions and assignment.

Award in Starting and Managing a New Business, University of Ioannina, Greece

The course will provide key knowledge and basic tools to start and manage a new business. In this sense it includes elements of strategic management, helping the determination of the strategic positioning and orientation of the firm, key management principles, elements of project appraisal and approaches and basic legal considerations important for the business related decisions.

Award in Fundamentals of EU Business Law, University of Bari, Italy

This module will provide key knowledge and basic tools related to fundamentals aspects of EU business law that an entrepreneur must take in consideration when setting-up a company and operate within the EU. It is designed to provide entrepreneurs with the legal context for operation of an SME within the broad legal infrastructure of the EU. It covers the main directives that impact SMEs and provides an introduction to the legal concepts essential for an understanding of the different legal vehicles that can be used as a basis for an SME operation. The module provides up-to-date information on the trends and practices in these areas with particular reference to specific case studies that provide scope for the application and interpretation of the theories and concepts covered in the module.

Award in Managing People in SMEs, Advenio eAcademy, Malta

The course will provide tools and necessary knowledge and the skill in applying human resources management practices which would help grow and manage a business. It will be based on current best practices, which we ourselves apply in the consultancy roles in applying management practices in different organisations.

Award in Marketing Practices for SMEs, Vilinius University, Lithuania

This module is arranged to provide learners with compatible financial management skills orienting them to small business specifics. During the module learners will be provided with basics of financial accounting, helping them to read the financial statements and identify the financial risks of the company as well as financial ratio’s calculations and interpretations, which will lead the learner to decision making on financial data and value creating to the small business company. Furthermore, this module oriented to critical thinking and solution finding, using different techniques and instruments of analysis.

Award in Digital Marketing Foundations and Practices for SMEs, University of Žilina, Slovakia

The course will provide tools, required knowledge, and experiences in setting, providing, and analyzing digital marketing in the online environment. It will be based on actual best practices and the practical examples of various digital marketing campaigns and other digital marketing approaches that help businesses grow and find new potential customers.

Award in ICT & Applications for SMEs, University of Ioannina, Greece

The module will provide tools and necessary knowledge and the skill in applying ICT practices which would help grow and manage a business. The ICT & Applications module seeks to provide students with the skills necessary for an entrepreneur to understand the role of ICT in setting up, building and growing an SME operation. It seeks to identify best practice and provide an overview of current ICT tools and services that are available to entrepreneurs and managers of SMEs to drive the start-up or established organization based on real data. The emphasis is on the understanding of the ICT tools, data analysis and then on the identification and use of modern web-based tools for implementation and collaboration.

The course will provide tools, required knowledge, and experiences in setting, providing, and analyzing digital marketing in the online environment. It will be based on key concepts and the latest best practices, which will help students to understand and take advantage of the evolving world of opportunity offered by e-commerce.

Award in Creativity and Innovation for SMEs, University of Bari, Italy

We can affirm that the ability to innovate experience is nearly infinite; there’s a tremendous possibility that an entrepreneur can change how the customer experience adds value to a company brand, to a product or a service. This module will provide some different skills that are very important for an entrepreneur to make a difference. We can set these skills under the hat of “creativity and innovation” content.

Award in Business Simulation for Management Practice, Advenio eAcademy, Malta

This Course Module has been designed to give students direct hands-on experience in the design, development and implementation of business strategies in a competitive environment. The programme relies on the use of an internationally acclaimed multi-user business simulation. This online multi-user simulation selected for the core business simulation is SIM Companies which provides a complex set of variables which provide a realistic re-creation of real-world markets and their dynamics. Alternative online games may be used.
